55d4929d66 Revert "virtio/vsock: replace virtio_vsock_pkt with sk_buff"
This reverts commit baddcc2c71 which is
commit 71dc9ec9ac7d3eee785cdc986c3daeb821381e20 upstream.

It needs to be reverted, as the function virtio_transport_free_pkt() is
in the stable Android ABI, and this function is removed in the 6.1.63
kernel as part of a series of fixes and optimizations of the virtio
networking connection. To preserve the ABI (and thereby keeping the
slower interface), revert the commit for now.

If this needs to come back in the future, if performance for this
interface needs to be resolved, it can be done so in an ABI-safe way.

c0f8b8fb7d vhost-vdpa: fix use after free in vhost_vdpa_probe()
[ Upstream commit e07754e0a1ea2d63fb29574253d1fd7405607343 ]

The put_device() calls vhost_vdpa_release_dev() which calls
ida_simple_remove() and frees "v". So this call to
ida_simple_remove() is a use after free and a double free.

Fixes: ebe6a354fa ("vhost-vdpa: Call ida_simple_remove() when failed")

baddcc2c71 virtio/vsock: replace virtio_vsock_pkt with sk_buff
[ Upstream commit 71dc9ec9ac7d3eee785cdc986c3daeb821381e20 ]

This commit changes virtio/vsock to use sk_buff instead of
virtio_vsock_pkt. Beyond better conforming to other net code, using
sk_buff allows vsock to use sk_buff-dependent features in the future
(such as sockmap) and improves throughput.

This patch introduces the following performance changes:

Tool: Uperf
Env: Phys Host + L1 Guest
Payload: 64k
Threads: 16
Test Runs: 10
Type: SOCK_STREAM

Note, this merge point also reverts commit
bb20a245df which is commit
24eca2dce0f8d19db808c972b0281298d0bafe99 upstream, as it conflicts with
the previous reverts for ABI issues, AND is an ABI break in itself. If
it is needed in the future, it can be brought back in an abi-safe way.

08e6b680f2 vhost: Allow null msg.size on VHOST_IOTLB_INVALIDATE
commit ca50ec377c2e94b0a9f8735de2856cd0f13beab4 upstream.

Commit e2ae38cf3d ("vhost: fix hung thread due to erroneous iotlb
entries") Forbade vhost iotlb msg with null size to prevent entries
with size = start = 0 and last = ULONG_MAX to end up in the iotlb.

Then commit 95932ab2ea ("vhost: allow batching hint without size")
only applied the check for VHOST_IOTLB_UPDATE and VHOST_IOTLB_INVALIDATE
message types to fix a regression observed with batching hit.

Still, the introduction of that check introduced a regression for
some users attempting to invalidate the whole ULONG_MAX range by
setting the size to 0. This is the case with qemu/smmuv3/vhost
integration which does not work anymore. It Looks safe to partially
revert the original commit and allow VHOST_IOTLB_INVALIDATE messages
with null size. vhost_iotlb_del_range() will compute a correct end
iova. Same for vhost_vdpa_iotlb_unmap().

3a72decd6b vringh: don't use vringh_kiov_advance() in vringh_iov_xfer()
commit 7aed44babc7f97e82b38e9a68515e699692cc100 upstream.

In the while loop of vringh_iov_xfer(), `partlen` could be 0 if one of
the `iov` has 0 lenght.
In this case, we should skip the iov and go to the next one.
But calling vringh_kiov_advance() with 0 lenght does not cause the
advancement, since it returns immediately if asked to advance by 0 bytes.

Let's restore the code that was there before commit b8c06ad4d6
("vringh: implement vringh_kiov_advance()"), avoiding using
vringh_kiov_advance().

Fixes: b8c06ad4d6 ("vringh: implement vringh_kiov_advance()")

needed in the android tree it should be brought back as an individual
change in the future.

6ab9468d3e vhost_net: revert upend_idx only on retriable error
[ Upstream commit 1f5d2e3bab16369d5d4b4020a25db4ab1f4f082c ]

Fix possible virtqueue used buffers leak and corresponding stuck
in case of temporary -EIO from sendmsg() which is produced by
tun driver while backend device is not up.

In case of no-retriable error and zcopy do not revert upend_idx
to pass packet data (that is update used_idx in corresponding
vhost_zerocopy_signal_used()) as if packet data has been
transferred successfully.

v2: set vq->heads[ubuf->desc].len equal to VHOST_DMA_DONE_LEN
in case of fake successful transmit.

454e4f391a vhost_vdpa: tell vqs about the negotiated
[ Upstream commit 376daf317753ccb6b1ecbdece66018f7f6313a7f ]

As is done in the net, iscsi, and vsock vhost support, let the vdpa vqs
know about the features that have been negotiated. This allows vhost
to more safely make decisions based on the features, such as when using
PACKED vs split queues.

2f5aa54e40 vhost_vdpa: fix unmap process in no-batch mode
commit c82729e06644f4e087f5ff0f91b8fb15e03b8890 upstream.

While using the vdpa device with vIOMMU enabled
in the guest VM, when the vdpa device bind to vfio-pci and run testpmd
then system will fail to unmap.
The test process is
Load guest VM --> attach to virtio driver--> bind to vfio-pci driver
So the mapping process is
1)batched mode map to normal MR
2)batched mode unmapped the normal MR
3)unmapped all the memory
4)mapped to iommu MR

This error happened in step 3). The iotlb was freed in step 2)
and the function vhost_vdpa_process_iotlb_msg will return fail
Which causes failure.

To fix this, we will not remove the AS while the iotlb->nmaps is 0.
This will free in the vhost_vdpa_clean

374bcab6c1 vhost-vdpa: free iommu domain after last use during cleanup
[ Upstream commit 5a522150093a0eabae9470a70a37a6e436bfad08 ]

Currently vhost_vdpa_cleanup() unmaps the DMA mappings by calling
`iommu_unmap(v->domain, map->start, map->size);`
from vhost_vdpa_general_unmap() when the parent vDPA driver doesn't
provide DMA config operations.

However, the IOMMU domain referred to by `v->domain` is freed in
vhost_vdpa_free_domain() before vhost_vdpa_cleanup() in
vhost_vdpa_release() which results in NULL pointer de-reference.
Accordingly, moving the call to vhost_vdpa_free_domain() in
vhost_vdpa_cleanup() would makes sense. This will also help
detaching the dma device in error handling of vhost_vdpa_alloc_domain().

This issue was observed on terminating QEMU with SIGQUIT.

c4cadb84e7 vhost-scsi: unbreak any layout for response
[ Upstream commit 6dd88fd59da84631b5fe5c8176931c38cfa3b265 ]

Al Viro said:

"""
Since "vhost/scsi: fix reuse of &vq->iov[out] in response"
we have this:
                cmd->tvc_resp_iov = vq->iov[vc.out];
                cmd->tvc_in_iovs = vc.in;
combined with
                iov_iter_init(&iov_iter, ITER_DEST, &cmd->tvc_resp_iov,
                              cmd->tvc_in_iovs, sizeof(v_rsp));
in vhost_scsi_complete_cmd_work(). We used to have ->tvc_resp_iov
_pointing_ to vq->iov[vc.out]; back then iov_iter_init() asked to
set an iovec-backed iov_iter over the tail of vq->iov[], with
length being the amount of iovecs in the tail.

Now we have a copy of one element of that array. Fortunately, the members
following it in the containing structure are two non-NULL kernel pointers,
so copy_to_iter() will not copy anything beyond the first iovec - kernel
pointer is not (on the majority of architectures) going to be accepted by
access_ok() in copyout() and it won't be skipped since the "length" (in
reality - another non-NULL kernel pointer) won't be zero.

So it's not going to give a guest-to-qemu escalation, but it's definitely
a bug. Frankly, my preference would be to verify that the very first iovec
is long enough to hold rsp_size. Due to the above, any users that try to
give us vq->iov[vc.out].iov_len < sizeof(struct virtio_scsi_cmd_resp)
would currently get a failure in vhost_scsi_complete_cmd_work()
anyway.
"""

However, the spec doesn't say anything about the legacy descriptor
layout for the respone. So this patch tries to not assume the response
to reside in a single separate descriptor which is what commit
79c14141a4 ("vhost/scsi: Convert completion path to use") tries to
achieve towards to ANY_LAYOUT.

This is done by allocating and using dedicate resp iov in the
command. To be safety, start with UIO_MAXIOV to be consistent with the
limitation that we advertise to the vhost_get_vq_desc().

Testing with the hacked virtio-scsi driver that use 1 descriptor for 1
byte in the response.

READ/WRITE proved to be actively confusing - the meanings are

the wrong way.

Call them ITER_DEST and ITER_SOURCE - at least that is harder

ccbe22d484 vhost/net: Clear the pending messages when the backend is removed
[ Upstream commit 9526f9a2b762af16be94a72aca5d65c677d28f50 ]

When the vhost iotlb is used along with a guest virtual iommu
and the guest gets rebooted, some MISS messages may have been
recorded just before the reboot and spuriously executed by
the virtual iommu after the reboot.

As vhost does not have any explicit reset user API,
VHOST_NET_SET_BACKEND looks a reasonable point where to clear
the pending messages, in case the backend is removed.

Export vhost_clear_msg() and call it in vhost_net_set_backend()

a2907867e2 vhost-vdpa: fix an iotlb memory leak
[ Upstream commit c070c1912a83432530cbb4271d5b9b11fa36b67a ]

Before commit 3d56987938 ("vhost-vdpa: introduce asid based IOTLB")
we called vhost_vdpa_iotlb_unmap(v, iotlb, 0ULL, 0ULL - 1) during
release to free all the resources allocated when processing user IOTLB
messages through vhost_vdpa_process_iotlb_update().
That commit changed the handling of IOTLB a bit, and we accidentally
removed some code called during the release.

We partially fixed this with commit 037d430556 ("vhost-vdpa: call
vhost_vdpa_cleanup during the release") but a potential memory leak is
still there as showed by kmemleak if the application does not send
VHOST_IOTLB_INVALIDATE or crashes:

Let's fix this calling vhost_vdpa_iotlb_unmap() on the whole range in
vhost_vdpa_remove_as(). We move that call before vhost_dev_cleanup()
since we need a valid v->vdev.mm in vhost_vdpa_pa_unmap().
vhost_iotlb_reset() call can be removed, since vhost_vdpa_iotlb_unmap()
on the whole range removes all the entries.

The kmemleak log reported was observed with a vDPA device that has `use_va`
set to true (e.g. VDUSE). This patch has been tested with both types of
devices.

8b31aa969a vhost: fix range used in translate_desc()
[ Upstream commit 98047313cdb46828093894d0ac8b1183b8b317f9 ]

vhost_iotlb_itree_first() requires `start` and `last` parameters
to search for a mapping that overlaps the range.

In translate_desc() we cyclically call vhost_iotlb_itree_first(),

we move the `start` parameter passed to vhost_iotlb_itree_first(),
but we should hold the `last` parameter constant.

9bc360aa81 vhost/vsock: Fix error handling in vhost_vsock_init()
[ Upstream commit 7a4efe182ca61fb3e5307e69b261c57cbf434cd4 ]

A problem about modprobe vhost_vsock failed is triggered with the
following log given:

modprobe: ERROR: could not insert 'vhost_vsock': Device or resource busy

The reason is that vhost_vsock_init() returns misc_register() directly
without checking its return value, if misc_register() failed, it returns
without calling vsock_core_unregister() on vhost_transport, resulting the
vhost_vsock can never be installed later.
A simple call graph is shown as below:

 vhost_vsock_init()
   vsock_core_register() # register vhost_transport
   misc_register()
     device_create_with_groups()
       device_create_groups_vargs()
         dev = kzalloc(...) # OOM happened
   # return without unregister vhost_transport

Fix by calling vsock_core_unregister() when misc_register() returns error.

f345a0143b vhost-vdpa: uAPI to suspend the device
The ioctl adds support for suspending the device from userspace.

This is a must before getting virtqueue indexes (base) for live migration,
since the device could modify them after userland gets them. There are
individual ways to perform that action for some devices
(VHOST_NET_SET_BACKEND, VHOST_VSOCK_SET_RUNNING, ...) but there was no
way to perform it for any vhost device (and, in particular, vhost-vdpa).

After a successful return of the ioctl call the device must not process
more virtqueue descriptors. The device can answer to read or writes of
config fields as if it were not suspended. In particular, writing to
"queue_enable" with a value of 1 will not make the device start
processing buffers of the virtqueue.

0723f1df5c vhost-vdpa: introduce SUSPEND backend feature bit
Userland knows if it can suspend the device or not by checking this feature
bit.

It's only offered if the vdpa driver backend implements the suspend()
operation callback, and to offer it or userland to ack it if the backend
does not offer that callback is an error.

f49c2226af vhost scsi: Allow user to control num virtqueues
We are currently hard coded to always create 128 IO virtqueues, so this
adds a modparam to control it. For large systems where we are ok with
using memory for virtqueues it allows us to add up to 1024. This limit
was just selected becuase that's qemu's limit.

5a4b0420b2 vhost-scsi: Fix max number of virtqueues
Qemu takes it's num_queues limit then adds the fixed queues (control and
event) to the total it will request from the kernel. So when a user
requests 128 (or qemu does it's num_queues calculation based on vCPUS
and other system limits), we hit errors due to userspace trying to setup
130 queues when vhost-scsi has a hard coded limit of 128.

This has vhost-scsi adjust it's max so we can do a total of 130 virtqueues
(128 IO and 2 fixed). For the case where the user has 128 vCPUs the guest
OS can then nicely map each IO virtqueue to a vCPU and not have the odd case
where 2 vCPUs share a virtqueue.

309bba39c9 vringh: iterate on iotlb_translate to handle large translations
iotlb_translate() can return -ENOBUFS if the bio_vec is not big enough
to contain all the ranges for translation.
This can happen for example if the VMM maps a large bounce buffer,
without using hugepages, that requires more than 16 ranges to translate
the addresses.

To handle this case, let's extend iotlb_translate() to also return the
number of bytes successfully translated.
In copy_from_iotlb()/copy_to_iotlb() loops by calling iotlb_translate()
several times until we complete the translation.

037d430556 vhost-vdpa: call vhost_vdpa_cleanup during the release
Before commit 3d56987938 ("vhost-vdpa: introduce asid based IOTLB")
we call vhost_vdpa_iotlb_free() during the release to clean all regions
mapped in the iotlb.

That commit removed vhost_vdpa_iotlb_free() and added vhost_vdpa_cleanup()
to do some cleanup, including deleting all mappings, but we forgot to call
it in vhost_vdpa_release().

This causes that if an application does not remove all mappings explicitly
(or it crashes), the mappings remain in the iotlb and subsequent
applications may fail if they map the same addresses.

Calling vhost_vdpa_cleanup() also fixes a memory leak since we are not
freeing `v->vdev.vqs` during the release from the same commit.

Since vhost_vdpa_cleanup() calls vhost_dev_cleanup() we can remove its
call from vhost_vdpa_release().

the mutex and if the backend is NULL will return without queueing a work.
vhost_scsi_clear_endpoint will set the backend to NULL under the vq->mutex

no evt related work will be able to requeue. The flush would then make sure
