commit f23ce757185319886ca80c4864ce5f81ac6cc9e9 upstream. Currently the locking order of inode locks for directories that are not in ancestor relationship is not defined because all operations that needed to lock two directories like this were serialized by sb->s_vfs_rename_mutex. However some filesystems need to lock two subdirectories for RENAME_EXCHANGE operations and for this we need the locking order established even for two tree-unrelated directories. Provide a helper function lock_two_inodes() that establishes lock ordering for any two inodes and use it in lock_two_directories(). Linux kernel ============ There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first. In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or ``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at: https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/ There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory, several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation. Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
