1. Limit the max number of WQEs per QP reported when querying the
device, so that ib_create_qp() will not fail for a QP size that the
device claimed to support due to additional headroom WQEs being
allocated.
2. Limit qp resources accepted for ib_create_qp() to the limits
reported in ib_query_device(). In kernel space, make sure that the
limits returned to the caller following qp creation also lie within
the reported device limits. For userspace, report as before, and do
adjustment in libmlx4 (so as not to break ABI).

Commit 096335b3f9 ("mlx4_core: Allow dynamic MTU configuration for
IB ports") modifies the port VL setting. This exposes a bug in
mlx4_common_set_port(), where the VL cap value passed in (inside the
command mailbox) is incorrectly zeroed-out:
mlx4_SET_PORT modifies the VL_cap field (byte 3 of the mailbox).
Since the SET_PORT command is paravirtualized on the master as well as
on the slaves, mlx4_SET_PORT_wrapper() is invoked on the master. This
calls mlx4_common_set_port() where mailbox byte 3 gets overwritten by
code which should only set a single bit in that byte (for the reset
qkey counter flag) -- but instead overwrites the entire byte.
The result is that when running in SR-IOV mode, the VL_cap will be set
to zero -- fix this.

Commit fa550189 (mmc: core: Prevent eMMC VCC supply to be cut from late init)
slightly affected timings for how things are done for the omap MMC driver
causing the MMC cards not getting detected any longer.
Turns out this was caused by buggy reg_shift initialization in the omap
MMC driver that was happening after mmc_add_host() was being called.
Fix this by initializing reg_shift before mmc_add_host() is called.

IDMAC may not be cleaned in driver probe if it has been already used in
boot time. So IDMAC needs sw reset newly. And DMA interface reset
precedes the internal DMAC reset. Additionally SDMMC_IDMAC_SWRESET is
replaced with magic code.

DTO interrupt can be later than transmit interrupt(IDMAC) in case of
write. Current handling of IDMAC interrupt sets EVENT_DATA_COMPLETE as
well as EVENT_XFER_COMPLETE regardless of DTO rising. This makes the
current request finish in tasklet and permits the next request even
though current data transfer is still in progress. As a result, sequence
is broken and lock-up happens. Setting EVENT_DATA_COMPLETE is not proper
after IDMAC interrupt. It should be taken after DTO interrupt is
generated.

SDIO_CCCR_IF[1:0] in SDIO card is used for card data bus width
setting as below:
00b: 1-bit bus
01b: Reserved
10b: 4-bit bus
11b: 8-bit bus (only for embedded SDIO)
And sdio_enable_wide is for setting data bus width as 4-bit.
But currently, it first reads the register, second OR' 1b with
SDIO_CCCR_IF[1], and then writes it back.
As we can see, this is based on such assumption that the
SDIO_CCCR_IF[0] is always 0. Apparently, this is not right.

3bdc9ba892 ("mmc: use really long write timeout to deal with crappy
cards") in 3.4 increased the write timeout that the core sends to host
drivers to 3 seconds. This makes sdhci's "requested timeout too large"
warning trigger on every write; so, change this pr_warning() to a DBG().

The hardware bit IXGBE_RXD_STAT_VP appears to be set even when Rx
stripping is disabled. This results in passing frames up the stack
which do not have the 802.1Q tag stripped but have the tci bits
set as if it was.
Working around this with a check for the feature flag bit. I
would welcome any better ideas or a pointer to exactly which
bits in the hardware register need to be cleared to get the
IXGBE_RXD_STAT_VP bit to be set per data sheet.

and simplifies the code by replacing two function calls with one
call to kstrtouint_from_user.
-Simplify the adv7393_write_proc function by replacing the
simple_strtoul and copy_from_user calls with one call
to kstrtouint_from_user.
-Change the count parameter from unsigned long to size_t as
this is the type that the kstrtouint_from_user function expects.

Linus reported that due to mac80211 failing to register
the device (due to WoWLAN) his machine crashed etc. as
we double-freed the vmalloc() firmware area. His patch
to fix it was very similar to this one but I noticed
that there's another bug in the area: we complete the
completion before starting, so since we're running in
a work struct context stop() could be called while in
the middle of start() which will almost certainly lead
to issues.
Make a modification similar to his to avoid the double-
free but also move the completion to another spot so it
is only done after start() either finished or failed so
that stop() can have a consistent state.

Many TVs and A/V receivers don't work with this bit set. Problem was
confirmed using: Onkyo TX-SR605, Sony BRAVIA KDL-52X3500, Sony BRAVIA
KDL-40S40xx. In theory this bit shouldn't affect audio engine when
feeding it with data, however it seems it does. Driver fglrx doesn't set
that bit in any of the above cases.
This fixes a regression introduced by 3.5-rc1.

The encoder get_crtc operation is called to retrieve a pointer to the
CRTC the encoder is currenctly connected to, right after setting the
encoder::crtc field to the new CRTC. The implementation of this
operation returns the pointer to the new CRTC, which is then pointlessly
compared to itself.
As the operation is not mandatory, don't implement it.

There is no guarantee that the last reference to the iio device has already been
dropped when iio_device_free is called. This means that we can up calling
iio_dev_release after iio_device_free which will lead to a use after free. As
the general rule the struct containing the device should always be freed in the
release callback.
This is what this patch does, it moves freeing the iio device struct as well as
releasing the idr reference to the release callback. To ensure that the device
is not freed before calling iio_device_free the device_unregister call in
iio_device_unregister is broken apart. iio_device_unregister will now only call
device_del to remove the device from the system and iio_device_free will call
put_device to drop the reference we obtained in iio_devce_alloc.
We also have to take care that calling iio_device_free without having called
iio_device_register still works (i.e. this can happen if something failed during
device initialization). For this to work properly two minor changes were
necessary: channel_attr_list needs to be initialized in iio_device_alloc and we
have to check whether the chrdev has been registered before releasing it in
iio_device_release.
This change also brings iio_device_unregister and iio_device_free more in sync
with iio_device_register and iio_device_alloc which call device_add and
device_initialize respectively.

MacBook Pro models with BCM4331 wireless have been found to have the ext
PA lines disabled after resuming from S3 without external power attach.
This causes them to be unable to transmit. Add a workaround to ensure
that the ext PA lines are enabled on BCM4331. Also extend all handling
of ext PA line muxing to BCM43431 as is done in the Broadcom SDK.

Since my commit
iwlwifi: use valid TX/RX antenna from hw_params
the config values are pure overrides, not the
real values for all hardware. Therefore, the
EEPROM TX power reading code checks the wrong
values, it should check the hw_params values.

Empirical evidence suggests that we need to: On at least one ivb
machine when running the hangman i-g-t test, the rings don't properly
initialize properly - the RING_START registers seems to be stuck at
all zeros.
Holding forcewake around this register init sequences makes chip reset

By correctly describing the rinbuffers as being in the GTT domain, it
appears that we are more careful with the management of the CPU cache
upon resume and so prevent some coherency issue when submitting commands
to the GPU later. A secondary effect is that the debug logs are then
consistent with the actual usage (i.e. they no longer describe the
ringbuffers as being in the CPU write domain when we are accessing them
through an wc iomapping.)

This patch fixes the interrupt mask for IC101 A/G devices
and now enables the link/speed/duplex interrupts.
This is done by setting the "INTR pin used" bit and cleaning
all the other bits in the Register 17.

In the error path of the ppr_notifer it can happen that the
iommu->lock is taken recursivly. This patch fixes the
problem by releasing the iommu->lock before any notifier is
invoked. This also requires to move the erratum workaround
for the ppr-log (interrupt may be faster than data in the log)
one function up.

At some point pci_get_bus_and_slot started to enable
interrupts. Since this function is used in the
amd_iommu_resume path it will enable interrupts on resume
which causes a warning. The fix will use a cached pointer
to the root-bridge to re-enable the IOMMU in case the BIOS
is broken.

In function dsi_compute_interleave_lp(), the escape clock/LP clock time period
is calculated incorrectly. The escape clock/LP clock is calculated as:
LP Clock(Hz) = DSI_FCLK(Hz) / lp_clk_div
Since we are calculating the time period of LP clock, the LP clock divider
should be multiplied with the time period of DSI_FCLK.
Calculating incorrect value of txclkesc results in incorrect calculation of LP
interleaving parameters, it also creates a possibility of a divide by zero
error.

Commit 4dbd8f63f0 (regulator: gpio-regulator: Set the smallest
voltage/current in the specified range) forgot to set the newly
introduced best_val.
Therefore it stayed always at INT_MAX thus breaking the setting
of the voltage.
Included is also an init value for target, as warnings about
a possibly uninitialised target started appearing with this fix.

The devm_kzalloc function eliminates the need for manual resource releasing
and simplify error handling. Resources allocated by devm_* are freed
automatically on driver detach.
Thus adding kfree calls here will introduce double free bug.
The memory of desc array and the pointers to the rdev[] are allocated by
devm_kzalloc call for struct palmas_pmic.

pm_runtime_put_sync() in dss_runtime_put() returns -EBUSY when any child
of dss is still enabled. This happens, for example, when a display
output is enabled and one dumps the clocks via debugfs. This causes
dss_runtime_get & put to be called.
While I couldn't find anything about this in the documentation and it
wasn't immediately clear from runtime_pm code, it looks to me that
pm_runtime_put_sync() returns -EBUSY to inform that things went fine,
but the device could not be turned off as there are still child devices
that are enabled. This is not a problem.
This patch skips the WARN_ON if pm_runtime_put_sync() returns -EBUSY.

Commit e605b743f3 ("IB/mlx4: Increase the number of vectors (EQs)
available for ULPs") didn't handle correctly the case where there
aren't enough MSI-X vectors to increase the number of EQs, so only the
legacy EQs are allocated. This results in an attempt to memset() to
zero the EQ table which was never allocated and a kernel crash.
Fix this by checking in the teardown flow if the table of EQs was ever
allocated. Also remove some unneeded setting to zero of the EQ
related fields in struct mlx4_ib_dev.

When using rping -c -a 0.0.0.0 with iw_cxgb4, the system crashes when
rdma_connect() is called. ip_dev_find() will return NULL, but pdev is
accessed anyway.
Checking that pdev is NULL and returning -ENODEV prevents the system
from crashing.

Fix the issue of C_CAN interrupts getting disabled forever when canconfig
utility is used multiple times. According to NAPI usage we disable all
the hardware interrupts in ISR and re-enable them in poll(). Current
implementation calls napi_enable() after hardware interrupts are enabled.
If we get any interrupts between these two steps then we do not process
those interrupts because napi is not enabled. Mostly these interrupts
come because of STATUS is not 0x7 or ERROR interrupts. If napi_enable()
happens before HW interrupts enabled then c_can_poll() function will be
called eventual re-enabling.
This patch moves the napi_enable() call before interrupts enabled.

This patch fixes an interrupt thrash issue with c_can driver.
In c_can_isr() function interrupts are disabled and enabled only in
c_can_poll() function. c_can_isr() & c_can_poll() both read the
irqstatus flag. However, irqstatus is always read as 0 in c_can_poll()
because all C_CAN interrupts are disabled in c_can_isr(). This causes
all interrupts to be re-enabled in c_can_poll() which in turn causes
another interrupt since the event is not really handled. This keeps
happening causing a flood of interrupts.
To fix this, read the irqstatus register in isr and use the same cached
value in the poll function.

This patch fixes an issue with transmit routine, which causes
"can_put_echo_skb: BUG! echo_skb is occupied!" message when
using "cansequence -p" on D_CAN controller.
In c_can driver, while transmitting packets tx_echo flag holds
the no of can frames put for transmission into the hardware.
As the comment above c_can_do_tx() indicates, if we find any packet
which is not transmitted then we should stop looking for more.
In the current implementation this is not taken care of causing the
said message.
Also, fix the condition used to find if the packet is transmitted
or not. Current code skips the first tx message object and ends up
checking one extra invalid object.
While at it, fix the comment on top of c_can_do_tx() to use the
terminology "packet" instead of "package" since it is more
standard.

If debugfs isn't cleaned up, stale files will be left in the filesystem
which will cause an OOPS when accessed the first time, and hang the
accessing application when accessed again, presumably due to some lock
being left held.

Convert to use O_DSYNC for all cases at FILEIO backend creation time to
avoid the extra syncing of pure timestamp updates with legacy O_SYNC during
default operation as recommended by hch. Continue to do this independently of
Write Cache Enable (WCE) bit, as WCE=0 is currently the default for all backend
devices and enabled by user on per device basis via attrib/emulate_write_cache.
This patch drops the now unnecessary fd_buffered_io= token usage that was
originally signalling when to explictly disable O_SYNC at backend creation
time for buffered I/O operation. This can end up being dangerous for a number
of reasons during physical node failure, so go ahead and drop this option
for now when O_DSYNC is used as the default.
Also allow explict FUA WRITEs -> vfs_fsync_range() call to function in
fd_execute_cmd() independently of WCE bit setting.

This patch implements two new messages that can be sent to the thin
pool target allowing it to take a snapshot of the _metadata_. This,
read-only snapshot can be accessed by userland, concurrently with the
live target.
Only one metadata snapshot can be held at a time. The pool's status
line will give the block location for the current msnap.
Since version 0.1.5 of the userland thin provisioning tools, the
thin_dump program displays the msnap as follows:

Now that userland can access the metadata we can do various things
that have traditionally been kernel side tasks:
i) Incremental backups.
By using metadata snapshots we can work out what blocks have
changed over time. Combined with data snapshots we can ensure
the data doesn't change while we back it up.

After the failure of a group of paths, any alternative paths that
need initialising do not become available until further I/O is sent to
the device. Until this has happened, ioctls return -EAGAIN.
With this patch, new paths are made available in response to an ioctl
too. The processing of the ioctl gets delayed until this has happened.
Instead of returning an error, we submit a work item to kmultipathd
(that will potentially activate the new path) and retry in ten
milliseconds.
Note that the patch doesn't retry an ioctl if the ioctl itself fails due
to a path failure. Such retries should be handled intelligently by the
code that generated the ioctl in the first place, noting that some SCSI
commands should not be retried because they are not idempotent (XOR write
commands). For commands that could be retried, there is a danger that
if the device rejected the SCSI command, the path could be errorneously
marked as failed, and the request would be retried on another path which
might fail too. It can be determined if the failure happens on the
device or on the SCSI controller, but there is no guarantee that all
SCSI drivers set these flags correctly.

If I/O needs retrying and only bypassed priority groups are available,
set the pg_init_delay_retry flag to wait before retrying.
If, for example, the reason for the bypass is that the controller is
getting reset or there is a firmware upgrade happening, retrying right
away would cause a flood of log messages and retries for what could be a
few seconds or even several minutes.

two 4-byte holes. Also use a bit within a single unsigned int for each

The definition of I217_PROXY_CTRL must use the BM_PHY_REG() macro instead
of the PHY_REG() macro for PHY page 800 register 70 since it is for a PHY
register greater than the maximum allowed by the latter macro, and fix a
typo setting the I217_MEMPWR register in e1000_suspend_workarounds_ich8lan.

"The device tree conversion for arm/ux500 in 3.5 turns out to be
incomplete because of a mismerge done by Linus Walleij that I failed
to notice early enough and that Lee Jones as the original author of
those patches did not manage to fix during the -next cycle. While we
originally to get a much larger set of ux500 device tree enablement
patches merged, this did not happen in time.
After some discussion at Linaro Connect conference this week, Lee has
been able to do damage control and provide a series to put the broken
platform back into usable shape for both DT and non-DT based booting.
This series has not been part of linux-next and is based on top of the
current state of the upstream kernel rather than an -rc, but this is
the best we could manage given the earlier breakage."

The 'mtd_writev' interface calls the function assigned
to the '_write' field of a given mtd device if that is
not NULL. The block2mtd driver sets the '_writev' field
to the 'mtd_writev' function itself and thus causes a
endless loop.
This is caused by 1dbebd3256
(mtd: harmonize mtd_writev usage).
Remove the assignment from the block2mtd driver to fix the
issue.

I incorporated the wrong version of the suspend/resume patch for gmux,
and so lost David Woodhouse's fix to leave the backlight level unchanged
over suspend/resume. This fixes it up to v2.

MTD_OF_PARTS and the default setting is not working due to using 'Y'
instead of 'y', introduced in commit
d6137badef. This made our board, and
possibly other boards using DTS defined partitions and not having
CONFIG_MTD_OF_PARTS=y defined in the defconfig, fail to mount root.

Currently, we terminate the eeprom access through clearing the CS by:
RTL_W8 (Cfg9346, ~EE_CS); or writeb (~EE_CS, ee_addr);
This would left the eeprom into "Config. Register Write Enable:"
state which is not expcted as the highest two bits were set to
0x11 ( expected is the "Normal" mode (0x00)). Solving this by write
0x0 instead of ~EE_CS when terminating the eeprom access.

Currently, we enable the receiver before setting the ring address which could
lead the card DMA into unexpected areas. Solving this by set the ring address
before enabling the receiver.
btw. I find and test this in qemu as I didn't have a 8139cp card in hand. please
review it carefully.

We can't use "input" anymore after calling input_unregister_device().
The call to input_free_device() is a double free. The normal way to
deal with this is to make input_register_device() the last function
called in the function.

The interface just doesn't work on some machines, and Dell haven't been
able to tell us either which machines those are or what we should be
doing instead. This would be fine, except it results in userspace ending
up confused and general sadness. So let's just rip it out for now.

radeon_cs_parser_init is called by both the legacy UMS

Tiling group size is always 256bits on r6xx/r7xx/r8xx/9xx. Also fix and
simplify render backend map. This now properly sets up the backend map
on r6xx-9xx which should improve 3D performance.

Need to program an additional VM register. This doesn't not currently

While there are cards with more than 8 mem banks, the max
number of banks from a tiling perspective is 8, so cap
the tiling config at 8 banks.

This driver uses PCI_CLASS_REVISION instead of PCI_REVISION_ID, so it
wasn't converted by 44c10138fd ("PCI: Change all drivers to use
pci_device->revision").
In one case, it even reads PCI revision ID without using it -- that code

The Nomadik GPIO controller now relies on Nomadik pinctrl, however
the pinctrl driver is not currently started by any ux500 platform.

Port is used as an array index before we know if that is proper.
For example, in the catas event case, port is zero; however,
the port index should lie in the range (1..2).
Fix this by using 'port' only in the events where it is of interest.
Test for port out of range in the default (unhandled event) case,
and do not output a message if it is not an ethernet port.

In SRIOV mode, the number of EQs used when computing the total ICM size
was incorrect.
To fix this, we do the following:
1. We add a new structure to mlx4_dev, mlx4_phys_caps, to contain physical HCA
capabilities. The PPF uses the phys capabilities when it computes things
like ICM size.
The dev_caps structure will then contain the paravirtualized values, making
bookkeeping much easier in SRIOV mode. We add a structure rather than a
single parameter because there will be other fields in the phys_caps.
The first field we add to the mlx4_phys_caps structure is num_phys_eqs.
2. In INIT_HCA, when running in SRIOV mode, the "log_num_eqs" parameter
passed to the FW is the number of EQs per VF/PF; each function (PF or VF)
has this number of EQs available.
However, the total number of EQs which must be allowed for in the ICM is
(1 << log_num_eqs) * (#VFs + #PFs). Rather than compute this quantity,
we allocate ICM space for 1024 EQs (which is the device maximum
number of EQs, and which is the value we place in the mlx4_phys_caps structure).
For INIT_HCA, however, we use the per-function number of EQs as described
above.

Acer Extensa 5235, TravelMate 5760 and Aspire 5750 laptop have broken _BCM
implemenation, the AML code wrote value to EC register but firmware didn't
change brighenss.
Fortunately, the brightness control works on those machines with vendor mode.

Loop through the list of SNC handles and run the proper initialization
function for each of the known handles. Also return void in function
where we are not checking the return value anyway.
For notifications we also know which handle is linked to the event and
the code becomes simpler to read with a switch rather than using
convoluted ifs.

All calls into the SNC device methods have zero or one arguments and
return an integer or a buffer (some functions go as far as returning an
integer _or_ a buffer depending on the input parameter...).
This allows simplifying a couple of code paths and prepares the field
for other users of functions returning buffers.

The SNC device on recent Vaio laptops also stores the soft status and
leaves it available after reboot. Use it and always set the last soft
and hard status on module load.

Some Toshiba laptops have the transflective LCD and toshset
can control its backlight state. I brought this feature to the
mainline. To support transflective LCD, it's implemented by
adding an extra level to the backlight and having 0 change to
transflective mode. It was tested on a Toshiba Portege R500.

Currently the backlight device is registered unconditionally, but many
(probably most) Toshibas either don't support HCI_LCD_BRIGHTNESS or only
support reading from it. This patch adds a test of HCI_LCD_BRIGHTNESS
during initialization and only registers the backlight device if this
interface supports both reads and writes.

The tp_features.bright_acpimode will not be set correctly for brightness
control because ACPI_VIDEO_HID will not be located in ACPI. As a result,
a duplicated key event will always be sent. acpi_video_backlight_support()
is sufficient to detect standard ACPI brightness control.

The XO-1 rfkill driver should only send EC commands when changing
between blocked/unblocked state.
The rfkill switch is asked to be unblocked on every resume (even when
the card was never blocked before) and sending a EC_WLAN_LEAVE_RESET
command here upsets the resume sequence of the libertas driver. Adding
the check to avoid the spurious EC_WLAN_LEAVE_RESET fixes the wifi resume
behaviour.
The rfkill state is maintained by the hardware over suspend/resume
so no extra consideration is needed here.

As long as there is no other non-const variable marked __initdata in the
same compilation unit it doesn't hurt. If there were one however
compilation would fail with
error: $variablename causes a section type conflict
because a section containing const variables is marked read only and so
cannot contain non-const variables.

Whilst most monitors do wire up the HPD presence pin, it seems quite a
few KVM do not. Therefore if we simply rely on the HPD pin being
asserted to indicate a connected monitor we fail miserable, so fall back
to performing a DCC query for the EDID.

Data valid gets cleared by reading the ISR (status register) and NOT from
reading ODATA (data register). A new data word can become available between
checking ISR and reading ODATA, causing us to reuse the same data word next
time atmel_trng_read() gets called, if that happens before the following
data word is ready.
With this fixed, rngtest no longer complains of 'Continous run' errors.

in interrupt context. So replaced irq version with non-irq version of spinlock.

The new merge_bvec_fn which calls the corresponding function
in subsidiary devices requires that mddev->merge_check_needed
be set if any child has a merge_bvec_fn.
However were were only setting that when a device was hot-added,
not when a device was present from the start.
This bug was introduced in 3.4 so patch is suitable for 3.4.y
kernels. However that are conflicts in raid10.c so a separate
patch will be needed for 3.4.y.

Weirdness around do_mmap() in there does not rely on ->mmap_sem for
exclusion, so no need to keep it under that. As the result, we can
turn that do_mmap() into vm_mmap().

Current failure paths attempt to free resources which we failed to request
and disable resources which we failed to enable ones. This leads to kernel
oops/panic. This patch does some simple re-ordering to prevent this from
happening.

disable_cb is just an optimization: it
can not guarantee that there are no callbacks.
In particular it doesn't have any effect when
event index is on.
Instead, detach, napi disable and reset on freeze ensure we don't run
concurrently with a callback.
Remove the useless calls so we get same behaviour
with and without event index.

Some SR-IOV devices may use more than one bus number, but there is no real bridges
because that have internal routing mechanism. So need to check whether the bridge is

All of the bind_XYZ_to_irq do a quick lookup to see if the
event exists. And if it does, then the initialized IRQ number
is returned instead of initializing a new IRQ number.
This patch adds an extra logic to check that the type returned
is proper one and that there is an IRQ handler setup for it.
This patch has the benefit of being able to find drivers that
are doing something naught.

PM/Hibernate: Wait for SCSI devices scan to complete during resume
Broke the scsi_wait_scan module in 2.6.30. Apparently debian still uses it so
fix it and backport to stable before removing it in 3.6.
The breakage is caused because the function template in
include/scsi/scsi_scan.h is defined to be a nop unless SCSI is built in.
That means that in the modular case (which is every distro), the
scsi_wait_scan module does a simple async_synchronize_full() instead of
waiting for scans.

This patch should go into 3.5 fixes. The bug was added in the
patches for the 3.5 feature window.
As you can see from the patch I made a mistake. During
development I switched from passing a struct to the size of
the struct, but left the sizeof. This results in us allocating
4 bytes (sizeof(int)) but then calling pci_free_consistent
with the size of the struct.

change_queue_depth will adjust device queuedepth upon receiving
"SAM_STAT_TASK_SET_FULL" scsi status from the target.
Also added ql4xqfulltracking command line param to enable or disable
queuefull tracking. One can disabling queuefull tracking to ensure
user set scsi device queuedepth is not altered.

Allow ddb state to change to DDB_DS_NO_CONNECTION_ACTIVE or
DDB_DS_SESSION_FAILED before issuing clear ddb mailbox cmd,
because clear ddb mailbox cmd fails if the ddb state is not

Update the session and connection parameter before sending
connection logged in event to iscsiadm because in some
scenario logout may come in just after we send the logged
in event to user, which free up session, connection and ddb,
but DPC is still updating session and connect parameter
which can lead to panic.

Since there are uses for I2C_M_NOSTART which are much more sensible and
standard than most of the protocol mangling functionality (the main one
being gather writes to devices where something like a register address
needs to be inserted before a block of data) create a new I2C_FUNC_NOSTART
for this feature and update all the users to use it.
Also strengthen the disrecommendation of the protocol mangling while we're
at it.
In the case of regmap-i2c we remove the requirement for mangling as
I2C_M_NOSTART is the only mangling feature which is being used.

As the bus driver side implementation of I2C_M_RECV_LEN is heavily
tied to SMBus, we can't support received length over 32 bytes, but
let's at least support that.
In practice, the caller will have to setup a buffer large enough to
cover the case where received length byte has value 32, so minimum
32 + 1 = 33 bytes, possibly more if there is a fixed number of bytes
added for the specific slave (for example a checksum.)

Check for Firmware Hang (AF_FW_RECOVERY) after mailbox command
has gained access to ensure that the mailbox command does not
wait un-necessarily during a firmware recovery and prevent
premature mailbox timeout which will lead to back to back reset's.

Since the watchdog core keeps track of the watchdog's active state, start/stop
will never get called when no changes are necessary. So we can remove the
check for the output_enable register changing before writing it (which is
an expensive operation).

If a driver's watchdog_device struct is part of a dynamically allocated
struct (which it often will be), merely locking the module is not enough,
even with a drivers module locked, the driver can be unbound from the device,
examples:
1) The root user can unbind it through sysfd
2) The i2c bus master driver being unloaded for an i2c watchdog
I will gladly admit that these are corner cases, but we still need to handle
them correctly.
The fix for this consists of 2 parts:
1) Add ref / unref operations, so that the driver can refcount the struct
holding the watchdog_device struct and delay freeing it until any
open filehandles referring to it are closed
2) Most driver operations will do IO on the device and the driver should not
do any IO on the device after it has been unbound. Rather then letting each
driver deal with this internally, it is better to ensure at the watchdog
core level that no operations (other then unref) will get called after
the driver has called watchdog_unregister_device(). This actually is the
bulk of this patch.

This patch fixes some potential multithreading issues, despite only
allowing one process to open the /dev/watchdog device, we can still get
called multiple times at the same time, since a program could be using thread,
or could share the fd after a fork.
This causes 2 potential problems:
1) watchdog_start / open do an unlocked test_n_set / test_n_clear,
if these 2 race, the watchdog could be stopped while the active
bit indicates it is running or visa versa.
2) Most watchdog_dev drivers probably assume that only one
watchdog-op will get called at a time, this is not necessary
true atm.

While they are registered all our watchdogs now have a valid device object
so we can in turn use that to report problems nicely.

We keep the old /dev/watchdog interface file for the first watchdog via
miscdev. This is basically a cut and paste of the relevant interface code
from the rtc driver layer tweaked for watchdog.

Pull x86 trampoline rework from H. Peter Anvin:
"This code reworks all the "trampoline"/"realmode" code (various bits
that need to live in the first megabyte of memory, most but not all of
which runs in real mode at some point) in the kernel into a single
object. The main reason for doing this is that it eliminates the last
place in the kernel where we needed pages to be mapped RWX. This code
separates all that code into proper R/RW/RX pages."
Fix up conflicts in arch/x86/kernel/Makefile (mca removed next to reboot
code), and arch/x86/kernel/reboot.c (reboot code moved around in one
branch, modified in this one), and arch/x86/tools/relocs.c (mostly same
code came in earlier due to working around the ld bugs just before the
3.4 release).
Also remove stale x86-relocs entry from scripts/.gitignore as per Peter
Anvin.

so if mdiobus_alloc fails, the errorpath doesnt do a netif_napi_del and also
doesn't set the priv data of the driver to NULL.
at the driver unload stage the driver doesn't remove the NAPI context, and
doesnt' set the priv data to NULL, and also doesn't call the pci_iounmap.

Pull EDAC internal API changes from Mauro Carvalho Chehab:
"This changeset is the first part of a series of patches that fixes the
EDAC sybsystem. On this set, it changes the Kernel EDAC API in order
to properly represent the Intel i3/i5/i7, Xeon 3xxx/5xxx/7xxx, and
Intel E5-xxxx memory controllers.
The EDAC core used to assume that:
- the DRAM chip select pin is directly accessed by the memory
controller
- when multiple channels are used, they're all filled with the
same type of memory.
None of the above premises is true on Intel memory controllers since
2002, when RAMBUS and FB-DIMMs were introduced, and Advanced Memory
Buffer or by some similar technologies hides the direct access to the
DRAM pins.
So, the existing drivers for those chipsets had to lie to the EDAC
core, in general telling that just one channel is filled. That
produces some hard to understand error messages like:
EDAC MC0: CE row 3, channel 0, label "DIMM1": 1 Unknown error(s): memory read error on FATAL area : cpu=0 Err=0008:00c2 (ch=2), addr = 0xad1f73480 => socket=0, Channel=0(mask=2), rank=1
The location information there (row3 channel 0) is completely bogus:
it has no physical meaning, and are just some random values that the
driver uses to talk with the EDAC core. The error actually happened
at CPU socket 0, channel 0, slot 1, but this is not reported anywhere,
as the EDAC core doesn't know anything about the memory layout. So,
only advanced users that know how the EDAC driver works and that tests
their systems to see how DIMMs are mapped can actually benefit for
such error logs.
This patch series fixes the error report logic, in order to allow the
EDAC to expose the memory architecture used by them to the EDAC core.
So, as the EDAC core now understands how the memory is organized, it
can provide an useful report:
EDAC MC0: CE memory read error on DIMM1 (channel:0 slot:1 page:0x364b1b offset:0x600 grain:32 syndrome:0x0 - count:1 area:DRAM err_code:0001:0090 socket:0 channel_mask:1 rank:4)
The location of the DIMM where the error happened is reported by "MC0"
(cpu socket #0), at "channel:0 slot:1" location, and matches the
physical location of the DIMM.
There are two remaining issues not covered by this patch series:
- The EDAC sysfs API will still report bogus values. So,
userspace tools like edac-utils will still use the bogus data;
- Add a new tracepoint-based way to get the binary information
about the errors.
Those are on a second series of patches (also at -next), but will
probably miss the train for 3.5, due to the slow review process."

"The whole series has been sitting in -next for quite a while with no
complaints. The last change to the series was before the weekend the
removal of an SPI patch which Grant - even though previously acked by
himself - appeared to raise objections. So I removed it until the
situation is clarified. Other than that all the patches have the acks
from their respective maintainers, all MIPS and x86 defconfigs are
building fine and I'm not aware of any problems introduced by this
series.
Among the key features for this patch series is a sizable patchset for
Lantiq which among other things introduces support for Lantiq's
flagship product, the FALCON SOC. It also means that the opensource
developers behind this patchset have overtaken Lantiq's competing
inhouse development team that was working behind closed doors.
Less noteworthy the ath79 patchset which adds support for a few more
chip variants, cleanups and fixes. Finally the usual dose of tweaking
of generic code."

Use the devres managed resource functions in the probe routine. Also
affects the remove routine where the previously used free and release
functions are not needed.
The devm_* functions eliminate the need for manual resource releasing and
simplify error handling. Resources allocated by devm_* are freed
automatically on driver detach.

Remove RTT interrupt handling, since PIE mode interrupts are now better
emulated in generic code via an hrtimer we have no need for this, and
there is no codepath in the driver that enables these periodic interrupts
anyway.

If the rtc reports the time might be invalid due to oscillator failure,
M41T93_FLAG_OF flag must not be reset by get_time() as the read operation
doesn't make the time valid.
Without this patch, only the first get_time() reported an invalid time,
the second get_time() reported a valid time althought the reported time is
probably wrong due to oscillator failure.
Instead of resetting in get_time(), with this patch M41T93_FLAG_OF is
reset in set_time() when a valid time is to be written.

Some DS13XX devices have "trickle chargers". Its configuration register
is at different locations, the setup is the same, though. Since the
configuration is board specific, introduce a platform_data to this driver.
Tested with a DS1339 on a custom board.

When issuing the following command:

It is possible that all the pca955x_read_ls calls are done sequentially
before any pca955x_write_ls call is done. This updates the LS only to
the last LED update in its set.
Fix this by using a global lock for the pca995x device during
pca955x_led_work. Also used a struct for shared data betreen all LEDs.

The leds timer trigger does not currently have an interface to activate a
one shot timer. The current support allows for setting two timers, one
for specifying how long a state to be on, and the second for how long the
state to be off. The delay_on value specifies the time period an LED
should stay in on state, followed by a delay_off value that specifies how
long the LED should stay in off state. The on and off cycle repeats until
the trigger gets deactivated. There is no provision for one time
activation to implement features that require an on or off state to be
held just once and then stay in the original state forever.
Without one shot timer interface, user space can still use timer trigger
to set a timer to hold a state, however when user space application
crashes or goes away without deactivating the timer, the hardware will be
left in that state permanently.
As a specific example of this use-case, let's look at vibrate feature on
phones. Vibrate function on phones is implemented using PWM pins on SoC
or PMIC. There is a need to activate one shot timer to control the
vibrate feature, to prevent user space crashes leaving the phone in
vibrate mode permanently causing the battery to drain.
This trigger exports three properties, activate, state, and duration When
transient trigger is activated these properties are set to default values.
- duration allows setting timer value in msecs. The initial value is 0.
- activate allows activating and deactivating the timer specified by
duration as needed. The initial and default value is 0. This will allow
duration to be set after trigger activation.
- state allows user to specify a transient state to be held for the specified
duration.

to use kstrtoul() instead of obsolete simple_strtoul().
