commit 0fb118de5003028ad092a4e66fc6d07b86c3bc94 upstream.

i2c-demux-pinctrl uses the pair of_find_i2c_adapter_by_node() /
i2c_put_adapter(). These pair alone is not correct to properly lock the
I2C parent adapter.

Indeed, i2c_put_adapter() decrements the module refcount while
of_find_i2c_adapter_by_node() does not increment it. This leads to an
underflow of the parent module refcount.

Use the	dedicated function, of_get_i2c_adapter_by_node(), to handle
correctly the module refcount.

[ Upstream commit 1a22aabf20adf89cb216f566913196128766f25b ]

Attempting to rollback the activation of the current master when
the current master has not been activated is bad. priv->cur_chan
and priv->cur_adap are both still zeroed out and the rollback
may result in attempts to revert an of changeset that has not been
applied and do result in calls to both del and put the zeroed out
i2c_adapter. Maybe it crashes, or whatever, but it's bad in any
case.

This supports property idle-state,if present,

My use cases:

	- Errata id: E-00013(board LS2085ARDB and
	  LS2088ARDB revision on Rev.B, Rev.C and Rev.D).
	- About E-00013:
	  - Description: I2C1 and I2C3 buses
	    are missing pull-up.
	  - Impact: When the PCA954x device is tri-stated, the I2C bus
	    will float. This makes the I2C bus and its associated
	    downstream devices inaccessible.
	  - Hardware fix: Populate resistors R189 and R190 for I2C1
	    and resistors R228 and R229 for I2C3.
	  - Software fix: Remove the tri-state option from the PCA954x
	    driver(PCA954x always on enable status, specify a
	    channel zero in dts to fix the errata E-00013).

d308dfbf62 i2c: mux/i801: Switch to use descriptor passing
This switches the i801 GPIO mux to use GPIO descriptors for
handling the GPIO lines. The previous hack which was reaching
inside the GPIO chips etc cannot live on. We pass descriptors
along with the GPIO mux device at creation instead.

The GPIO mux was only used by way of platform data with a
platform device from one place in the kernel: the i801 i2c bus
driver. Let's just associate the GPIO descriptor table with
the actual device like everyone else and dynamically create
a descriptor table passed along with the GPIO i2c mux.

This enables simplification of the GPIO i2c mux driver to
use only the descriptor API and the OF probe path gets
simplified in the process.

The i801 driver was registering the GPIO i2c mux with
PLATFORM_DEVID_AUTO which would make it hard to predict the
device name and assign the descriptor table properly, but
this seems to be a mistake to begin with: all of the
GPIO mux devices are hardcoded to look up GPIO lines from
the "gpio_ich" GPIO chip. If there are more than one mux,
there is certainly more than one gpio chip as well, and
then we have more serious problems. Switch to
PLATFORM_DEVID_NONE instead. There can be only one.

d00afd5ede Merge branch 'i2c-mux/for-next' of https://github.com/peda-r/i2c-mux into i2c/for-5.2
Mainly some pca954x work, i.e. removal of unused platform data support
and added support for sysfs interface for manipulating/examining the
idle state. And then a mechanical cocci-style patch.

d5984d2a31 i2c: mux: demux-pinctrl: use struct_size() in devm_kzalloc()
One of the more common cases of allocation size calculations is finding
the size of a structure that has a zero-sized array at the end, along
with memory for some number of elements for that array. For example:

struct foo {
    int stuff;
    void *entry[];
};

instance = devm_kzalloc(dev, sizeof(struct foo) + sizeof(void *) * count, GFP_KERNEL);

Instead of leaving these open-coded and prone to type mistakes, we can
now use the new struct_size() helper:

instance = devm_kzalloc(dev, struct_size(instance, entry, count), GFP_KERNEL);

This code was detected with the help of Coccinelle.

f1fb64b04b i2c: mux: pca954x: allow management of device idle state via sysfs
The behaviour, by default, to not deselect after each transfer is
unsafe when there is a device with an address that conflicts with
another device on another mux on the same parent bus, and it
may not be convenient to use devicetree to set the deselect mux,
e.g. when running on x86_64 when ACPI is used to discover most of the
device hierarchy.

Therefore, provide the ability to set the idle state behaviour using a
new sysfs file, idle_state as a complement to the method of
instantiating the device via sysfs. The possible behaviours are
disconnect, i.e. to deselect all channels from the mux, as-is (the
default), i.e. leave the last channel selected, and set a
predetermined channel.

The current behaviour of leaving the channel as-is after each
transaction is preserved.

There are no in-tree users of the pca954x platform data and the

muxes. Therefore, remove support for the pca954x platform data.

b9762bebc6 gpiolib: Pass bitmaps, not integer arrays, to get/set array
Most users of get/set array functions iterate consecutive bits of data,
usually a single integer, while processing array of results obtained
from, or building an array of values to be passed to those functions.
Save time wasted on those iterations by changing the functions' API to
accept bitmaps.

All current users are updated as well.

More benefits from the change are expected as soon as planned support
for accepting/passing those bitmaps directly from/to respective GPIO
chip callbacks if applicable is implemented.
