When the dwc3 device is runtime suspended, various required clocks are in disabled state and it is not guaranteed that access to any registers would work. Depending on the SoC glue, a register read could be as benign as returning 0 or be fatal enough to hang the system. In order to prevent such scenarios of fatal errors, make sure to resume dwc3 then allow the function to proceed. Fixes: |

Linux kernel

There are several guides for kernel developers and users. These guides can
be rendered in a number of formats, like HTML and PDF. Please read
Documentation/admin-guide/README.rst first.
In order to build the documentation, use ``make htmldocs`` or
``make pdfdocs``. The formatted documentation can also be read online at:
https://www.kernel.org/doc/html/latest/
There are various text files in the Documentation/ subdirectory,
several of them using the Restructured Text markup notation.
Please read the Documentation/process/changes.rst file, as it contains the
requirements for building and running the kernel, and information about
the problems which may result by upgrading your kernel.
