mhi: core: Use appropriate names for BHI/BHIe firmware load functions
mhi_fw_load_sbl() function is currently used to transfer SBL or EDL images over BHI (Boot Host Interface). Same goes with mhi_fw_load_amss() which uses BHIe. However, the contents do not indicate support for a specific set of images. Since these can be used for any image download over BHI or BHIe, we should rename them based on the protocol used. mhi: cntrl: qcom: Add support for fatal error processing
MHI controller needs to handle the fatal error callback issued by the bus in case reset separation needs to be supported. This state will occur as a SYS ERROR state with the device being in PBL. Perform a full power cycle and issue an MHI RESET during power down. Change-Id: I467943924302ba773c8f6d0c4ad09b51faaeb490 Signed-off-by: Bhaumik Bhatt <bbhatt@codeaurora.org> |

mhi: core: block unbind from userspace till channel reset
MHI clients can unbind driver from userspace while a channel is active with ongoing transfers. As we can only do host side clean-up of the channel without sending a reset channel command to the device, a kernel panic could occur due to incoming packets if we proceed. Wait until the client unprepares the channel or device goes to an error state. Change-Id: I400cbf799d96fb7bc05df4c568593e12e9dc41f1 Signed-off-by: Bhaumik Bhatt <bbhatt@codeaurora.org> |

mhi: core: Add extra checks for RDDM event handling
If the device enters RDDM when the host is in a fast/DRV suspended state, MHI host may end up skipping the check from BHI interrupt handling as a host resume may remain pending for a while. Once the host resume is triggered by the controller, MHI host can either walk the primary event ring to discover the RDDM EE event or check the execution environment post the DRV resume and notify the controller of the error condition as fallbacks to the original method of using the BHI interrupt. mhi: core: Move power down check within the RDDM image support
If a controller supports RDDM, there is no need to process a SYS_ERROR. Hence, we can safely move the power down state check to reside within an RDDM supported controller as it allows for other controllers to handle scenarios such as receiving an early SYS_ERROR when in the PBL execution environment. mhi: core: Separate rddm support and dump collection
As of now, there is no way for MHI to know if device supports RDDM and host controller wishes to skip ramdump collection. Allow for that by letting the controller set the rddm support boolean which indicates device side support. If rddm_size is set to zero while the support for RDDM is present, that indicates disinterest in ramdump collection if RDDM execution environment is entered. bus: ti-sysc: Ignore clockactivity unless specified as a quirk
[ Upstream commit 08b91dd6e547467fad61a7c201ff71080d7ad65a ]
We must ignore the clockactivity bit for most modules and not set it
unless specified for the module with SYSC_QUIRK_USE_CLOCKACT. Otherwise
the interface clock can be automatically gated constantly causing
unexpected performance issues.

[ Upstream commit 5ce8aee81be6c8bc19051d7c7b0d3cbb7ac5fc3f ]
Looks like we're missing flush of posted write after module enable and
disable. I've seen occasional errors accessing various modules, and it
is suspected that the lack of posted writes can also cause random reboots.
The errors we can see are similar to the one below from spi for example:
44000000.ocp:L3 Custom Error: MASTER MPU TARGET L4CFG (Read): Data Access
in User mode during Functional access
...
mcspi_wait_for_reg_bit
omap2_mcspi_transfer_one
spi_transfer_one_message
...
We also want to also flush posted write for disable. The clkctrl clock
disable happens after module disable, and we don't want to have the
module potentially stay active while we're trying to disable the clock.

mhi: core: add mhi_device_get_sync_atomic() to wait until M0
There is a possibility of client driver's dev_wake request as part mhi_device_get() racing with M1 state transition event processing. This can result in a scenario where client finds MHI state as M0 after mhi_device_get() returns only to be changed later as M1 event processing is still pending on different CPU core. It causes M0 -> M2 -> M0 state transition after mhi_device_get() has already returned. This isn't expected by client and currently treats that as fatal error. Also, as per MHI spec host must allow M1 -> M2 transition for device and it shouldn't abort that. However, clients can ignore that transition as device is expected to immediately move from M2 to M0 without entering deep sleep state. Hence, it must be safe to access their MMIO. To simplify this logic, introduce mhi_device_get_sync_atomic() function that can be used by clients to achieve the same and once it returns success they don't need to have any explicit MHI state checks. mhi: core: Trigger host resume if client requests device vote
When an MHI client on the host requests a device resume/vote using the mhi_device_get() API, host should also resume from its own suspended state to allow efficient voting as MHI host could be in DRV suspended state. Host must ensure that link control is brought back to the application processor once a vote is initiated. mhi: core: Read transfer length from an event properly
When MHI Driver receives an EOT event, it reads xfer_len from the event in the last TRE. The value is under control of the MHI device and never validated by Host MHI driver. The value should never be larger than the real size of the buffer but a malicious device can set the value 0xFFFF as maximum. This causes driver to memory overflow (both read or write). Fix this issue by reading minimum of transfer length from event and the buffer length provided. mhi: core: Fix out of bound channel id handling
If transfer completion event ring element includes invalid channel id, driver continues in a while loop without incrementing local event ring read pointer. This results into infinite loop. Hence recycle the current element and move to next event ring element. Change-Id: I01c5f6aaa596fccc1472f5988f431c77ad13820b Signed-off-by: Hemant Kumar <hemantk@codeaurora.org> |

mhi: core: expose soc reset and register dump debugfs entries
For debug purposes, allow clients to issue SOC reset or read the entire register dump when they wish to do so. They may not read proper values or the reset may not take effect if the device is powered down. mhi: core: Do a null pointer check before reading debug registers
Not all registers can be set while dumping debug registers depending on the state of the device. For example, wake doorbell is not set until a READY state of the device is reached. Hence, we could access a NULL pointer while dumping debug registers. Avoid this by adding a check to skip the addresses which are not yet set. mhi: core: Enable both time synchronization methods to co-exist
Due to co-existence of both time synchronization methods on a platform, it is likely that a doorbell method response can be pending while another host client requests for time using the MMIO or synchronous method. Wait for completion of the doorbell method and return the local and remote times from that request as the device may not be able to handle both requests or host is likely to end up reading corrupted time values. Also, ensure the doorbell method request is done while holding the bus vote so the host stays awake and receives the response as soon as possible. mhi: core: block fast suspends on controller device bus vote

Since it does not exactly reflect what the core driver intends to do, allow a bus vote to the controller device to block fast suspends as well. mhi: core: improve bandwidth switch events processing
We may unnecessarily wake up the device when there is no pending bandwidth switch request. Avoid that by only asserting device wake if one is pending. We can also have the underlying MHI bus go to suspend while a device requested bandwidth switch is yet to be processed. Prevent host suspends by capturing both bus and device votes and increment pending packets to reject suspends while the processing is ongoing. mhi: controller: qcom: Enable MHI register write offload support
When PCIe endpoint enters L1SS sleep and mhi client on Host tries to queue a transfer request endpoint takes more than 6ms to come back to L0 state. This can cause CPU stall if MHI register write is followed by a write memory barrier. This can cause other tasks to get blocked. Prevent this situation by offloading MHI register write to a high priority worker thread when in AMSS. When thread gets a chance to run it would first bring the link to L0 and then perform register write. mhi: core: Prevent MHI reg read upon endpoint crash
MHI reset is triggered as part of EP shutdown. Shutdown is blocked until MHI RESET bit is cleared in MHI CTRL reg. There is a possibility of PCIe link going down during this time. Since MHI RESET bit never gets cleared after 2 sec wait_event_timeout reads the MHI CTRL reg and this results into a memory abort. Fix this issue by using a boolean flag as condition in wait_event_timeout. This flag is set when MHI reset is triggered and cleared when reset is done. mhi: core: Make sure reg_write_q stores visible to other cores
mhi_reg_write_enqueue API stores reg, val and valid which can go out of order. In case valid is set to true before val is set, offload worker running on another core ends up writing stale value to register. Another possibility is valid being set to true but not visible to other cores. When offload worker gets a chance to run, this results into skipping register write. Fix these issues by adding smp_wmb() between stores of val and valid and another after valid is set. bus: sunxi-rsb: Return correct data when mixing 16-bit and 8-bit reads
[ Upstream commit a43ab30dcd4a1abcdd0d2461bf1cf7c0817f6cd3 ] When doing a 16-bit read that returns data in the MSB byte, the RSB_DATA register will keep the MSB byte unchanged when doing the following 8-bit read. sunxi_rsb_read() will then return a result that contains high byte from 16-bit read mixed with the 8-bit result. The consequence is that after this happens the PMIC's regmap will look like this: (0x33 is the high byte from the 16-bit read) % cat /sys/kernel/debug/regmap/sunxi-rsb-3a3/registers 00: 33 01: 33 02: 33 03: 33 04: 33 05: 33 06: 33 07: 33 08: 33 09: 33 0a: 33 0b: 33 0c: 33 0d: 33 0e: 33 [snip] Fix this by masking the result of the read with the correct mask based on the size of the read. There are no 16-bit users in the mainline kernel, so this doesn't need to get into the stable tree. mhi: core: Add range check for channel id received in event ring
The mhi_process_cmd_completion function reads cmd channel id from cmd_pkt using MHI_TRE_GET_CHID, the value is under the control of MHI devices and can be any value between 0 and 255. However the max channel is defined in device tree file and it is usually smaller than 255. This can cause out of bound access to the channel array. Fix this by checking the channel id received in cmd ring against the max channel allowed on target. mhi: core: Finish pending reg writes before entering suspend
It is possible that the write offload worker gets a chance to run after PCIe link is handed off to DRV subsystem. DRV subsystem can enter L1SS sleep while work handler is trying to access MHI register. This results into NOC error. Fix this issue by flushing work before handing off PCIe link to DRV subsystem or link enters D3 cold. mhi: core: Add support to offload MHI register write to worker thread
When PCIe endpoint enters L1SS sleep and mhi client on Host tries to queue a transfer request endpoint takes more than 6ms to come back to L0 state. This can cause CPU stall if MHI register write is followed by a write memory barrier. This can cause other tasks to get blocked. In order to prevent this add register write offload API mhi_write_reg_offload() which would queue the write and handle write request from worker thread in AMSS execution environment. mhi: core: Treat MHI_ASSERT as fatal error
Currently MHI_ASSERT causes kernel panic in debug mode. In performance mode it just prints warning and continues. This can cause memory over-read, out of bound memory read. All the places driver is asserting need to result into a kernel panic to root cause the issue and prevent unwanted memory access. mhi: core: Read transfer length from an event properly
When MHI Driver receives an EOT event, it reads xfer_len from the event in the last TRE. The value is under control of the MHI device and never validated by Host MHI driver. The value should never be larger than the real size of the buffer but a malicious device can set the value 0xFFFF as maximum. This causes device to memory overflow (both read or write). Fix this issue by reading minimum of transfer length from event and the buffer length provided. mhi: core: fix fast forward recycling of event rings

Add another API to support handling updates for context write pointer separately with the fast forwarding use case. The input_read function declares the size of the hex array relative to
sizeof(buf), but buf is a pointer argument of the function. The hex
array is meant to contain hexadecimal representation of the bin array.

bus: ti-sysc: Fix watchdog quirk handling
I noticed that when probed with ti-sysc, watchdog can trigger on am3, am4
and dra7 causing a device reset.
Turns out I made several mistakes implementing the watchdog quirk handling:
1. We must do both writes to spr register
2. We must also call the reset quirk on disable
3. On am3 and am4 we need to also set swsup quirk flag
I probably only tested this earlier with watchdog service running when the
watchdog never gets disabled.

ARM: SoC: late updates for v5.4
This is some material that we picked up into our tree late or that had complex inter-depondencies. The fact that there are these interdependencies tends to meant that these are often actually the most interesting new additions: The new Aspeed AST2600 baseboard management controller is added, this is a Cortex-A7 based follow-up to the ARM11 based AST2500 and had some dependencies on other device drivers. After many years, support for the MMP2 based OLPC XO-1.75 finally makes it into the kernel. The Armada 3720 based Turris Mox open source router platform is a late addition and it follows some preparatory work across multiple branches. The OMAP2+ platform had some large-scale cleanup involving driver changes and DT changes, here we finish it off, dropping a lot of the now-unused platform data. The TI K3 platform that got added for 5.3 gains a lot more support for individual bits on the SoC, this part just came late for the merge window. ARM: SoC driver updates for v5.4
The branch contains driver changes that are tightly connected to SoC specific code. Aside from smaller cleanups and bug fixes, here is a list of the notable changes. New device drivers: - The Turris Mox router has a new "moxtet" bus driver for its on-board pluggable extension bus. bus: ti-sysc: Fix handling of invalid clocks
We can currently get "Unable to handle kernel paging request at
virtual address" for invalid clocks with dts node but no driver:
(__clk_get_hw) from [<c0138ebc>] (ti_sysc_find_one_clockdomain+0x18/0x34)
(ti_sysc_find_one_clockdomain) from [<c0138f0c>] (ti_sysc_clkdm_init+0x34/0xdc)
(ti_sysc_clkdm_init) from [<c0584660>] (sysc_probe+0xa50/0x10e8)
(sysc_probe) from [<c065c6ac>] (platform_drv_probe+0x58/0xa8)
Let's add IS_ERR checks to ti_sysc_clkdm_init() as And let's start treating
clk_get() with -ENOENT as a proper error. If the clock name is specified
in device tree we must succeed with clk_get() to continue. For modules with
no clock names specified in device tree we will just ignore the clocks.

bus: uniphier-system-bus: use devm_platform_ioremap_resource()
Replace the chain of platform_get_resource() and devm_ioremap_resource() with devm_platform_ioremap_resource(). This allows to remove the local variable for (struct resource *), and have one function call less. bus: ti-sysc: Fix clock handling for no-idle quirks
NFSroot can fail on dra7 when cpsw is probed using ti-sysc interconnect
target module driver as reported by Keerthy.
Device clocks and the interconnect target module may or may not be
enabled by the bootloader on init, but we currently assume the clocks
and module are on from the bootloader for "ti,no-idle" and
"ti,no-idle-on-init" quirks as reported by Grygorii Strashko.
Let's fix the issue by always enabling clocks init, and
never disable them for "ti,no-idle" quirk. For "ti,no-idle-on-init"
quirk, we must decrement the usage count later on to allow PM
runtime to idle the module if requested.

bus: imx-weim: remove incorrect __init annotations
The probe function is no longer __init, so anything it calls now
must also be available at runtime, as Kbuild points out when building
with clang-9:
WARNING: vmlinux.o(.text+0x6e7040): Section mismatch in reference from the function weim_probe() to the function .init.text:imx_weim_gpr_setup()
The function weim_probe() references
the function __init imx_weim_gpr_setup().
This is often because weim_probe lacks a __init
annotation or the annotation of imx_weim_gpr_setup is wrong.
WARNING: vmlinux.o(.text+0x6e70f0): Section mismatch in reference from the function weim_probe() to the function .init.text:weim_timing_setup()
The function weim_probe() references
the function __init weim_timing_setup().
This is often because weim_probe lacks a __init
annotation or the annotation of weim_timing_setup is wrong.
Remove the remaining __init markings that are now wrong.

bus: moxtet: fix unsigned comparison to less than zero
Currently the size_t variable res is being checked for
an error failure however the unsigned variable is never
less than zero so this test is always false. Fix this by
